The Melk Abbey, a stunning Baroque abbey located on a hill overlooking the Danube River, is another must-visit destination.

Visitors can explore the abbey's many rooms, which feature beautiful frescoes and sculptures, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside (undergoing renovation during our visit).

A must visit include the old ruins of Gutenstein castle, the Raimundvilla (now privately owned, but picturesque from a path in the woods) and the Myrafaelle in Muggendorf.
