United States National Wildlife Refuges
It is very unclear, at least to me, as to which government body is responsible for the National Wildlife Refuges. Possibilities include the Bureau of Land Management, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of the Interior, the Fish and Wildlife Service and (less likely) the Forest Service.
Many of the National Parks and other National Park Service areas are also major havens for wildlife.
