REYNOSA,

The city of Reynosa was founded
on March 14, 1749 - located then 20 kilometers (about 13 miles) from its
present site. It was founded by Captain Don Carlos Cantu, with 279 persons.
In 1802, due to constant floods, the city was moved to its present location.
Reynosa has enjoyed continual
growth throughout the years, cand todays's population is now over 350,000.
The economy of Reynosa depends
largely on its naqtural gas resources (Petroleos Mexicanos), cattle, agriculture,
industry and tourist trade.
