Santa Coloma

A circular church tower and medieval paintings, just beyond the capital’s bustle.

A tower you will recognise

Santa Coloma church combines an early medieval building with a later, round bell tower. Its silhouette is memorable; the story becomes richer when paired with the nearby museum rather than treated as a roadside photo stop.

See the paintings in context

Espai Columba preserves mural paintings and liturgical objects from Andorran churches. Its collection helps explain what the small stone buildings once contained. Check combined church-and-museum visiting arrangements with the museum service.

A heritage detour from the capital

Santa Coloma belongs to Andorra la Vella parish and works well as a separate outing from the city centre. If adding an Enclar-area walk above the village, check the route’s steepness and weather first. A museum afternoon is a perfectly respectable alternative.

A day that leaves room to enjoy it

Pair Espai Columba with the church, allowing time for the current visit format. Return to the capital for the rest of the day, or add a walk only if conditions and your party’s ability suit it.

Allow a half-day for the church and museum.
