The pod-style stays are real

Whichaway and Echo, operated by White Desert in Queen Maud Land, offer heated sleeping pods. Use the operator links below for current camp photographs and details. These stays are part of arranged fly-in journeys.

Seasonal camps offer another kind of comfort

ALE’s Union Glacier and South Pole camps support different interior programmes. Accommodation and facilities vary by camp, and an overnight visit must be part of the itinerary you book.

For the coast, your room usually travels with you

On coastal voyages, the expedition ship is normally the accommodation. Choose the cabin and voyage together, and do not assume a coastal landing site has an ashore hotel or campsite open to independent visitors.
