The saguaro and many other types of cacti can be seen throughout the region, but especially at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on the Mexican border south-southwest of Phoenix and at the two units of the Saguaro National Park near Tucson.
According to some descriptions Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California is located in the extreme western part of the Sonoran Desert.
