SEE HOW THE PLACES FIT TOGETHER

Find your way around.

Select a pin or place name to open its guide directly. Gold marks the first-time highlights, teal the places beyond the beaten path.

Orientation only: approximate positions, with leader lines separating nearby places. Boundary data: Natural Earth, public domain ↗. Algeria shown for orientation. Not a road or transport map; this first selection does not cover every region.

Build your own journey

Places to combine in one trip.

Capital and central coast

Give Algiers several days, then add Cherchell and Tipasa as a deliberate coastal chapter with museum and road time.

Western cities

Pair Oran and Tlemcen for contrasting coastal, musical and architectural stories. Check the actual transport between them.

Eastern archaeology and cities

Choose Constantine with Sétif or Batna, then give Djémila and Timgad separate days. Add Annaba only with enough time for another regional stage.

These are route ideas, not packaged tours or confirmed transport schedules. Adjust the number of stops and nights to your pace; separate transfers need time of their own.

A FEW USEFUL ESSENTIALS

Before you travel.

Read regional advice first

Official advice applies differently by region and route. Check the current map and restrictions before confirming travel.

Arrange permissions locally

Religious sites and M’Zab communities have specific visitor rules. Confirm an authorised guide and photography permission.

Check the actual train

Use the national rail operator for the current service, station and booking arrangements. A map line is not a timetable.
