A road through changing landscapes

Serra da Leba is known for its winding descent from the highlands towards the Namibe side. It is a road journey and viewpoint outing rather than a place to wander on foot around traffic.

Stop where it is appropriate

Travel with a driver familiar with the route. Use suitable stopping points and keep passengers clear of the carriageway. Sharp bends make this a poor place to improvise a photograph from the roadside.

Fit it into a sensible route

Ask whether a viewpoint outing or a full coast-to-highlands transfer best suits your trip. Check road and weather conditions and allow time for the journey in daylight.

Give the day room to unfold

Arrange the excursion with a reputable local provider, check conditions and return transport, and stay on established access routes.
