Begin with a little everyday life

St. John’s is the country’s capital and an active port. Make room for the Public Market and the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, alongside a walk around the harbour streets. Ask what is open on your particular day.

Look beyond the cruise-day hurry

An early market visit and a museum stop can make a satisfying half-day. Treat stalls as working businesses, ask before photographing people and take a pause somewhere with shade. Your holiday does not have to run on a ship’s timetable.

Give the day room to unfold

Choose one main outing, confirm access and arrange the return journey. Leave time for a meal and a change of plan if the weather calls for it.
