Lake Sevan

Highland water, peninsula churches and a landscape best enjoyed without a hurried circuit.

Begin with the peninsula

Sevanavank offers a memorable introduction to the lake and its setting. Steps and exposed weather can affect the visit, so allow time and choose an outing suitable for the whole party. This photograph shows the monastery area, not the hotel listed below.

The shore matters

A property on the eastern shore and a stop on the north-western peninsula are different places. Check the address, access and driving time before booking. You do not need to circle the entire lake to enjoy a good lakeside afternoon.

Give the day room to unfold

Choose a main outing, allow for the mountain roads and check current access before setting out. Ask your host about suitable transport and the return journey.
