A capital at walking pace

Start with the historic centre and choose a museum to add context to the façades. The archaeological museum is a useful way into the island’s Indigenous heritage, while a town walk reveals other layers of Aruba’s story.

Make time for the ordinary city

Pause for lunch, seek out a local guide or browse a place that interests you beyond the waterfront shops. Plan your route around the heat and current museum openings. It is perfectly acceptable to finish a museum before starting a second souvenir bag.

Give the day room to unfold

Choose an outing that suits your party, confirm current access and arrange your return transport. Leave time for shade, water and an unhurried meal.
