Before you set out
Planning your Bangladesh visit
A little planning leaves more time for the places you came to see. Choose a manageable route, confirm your transport and check current entry and local access requirements.

Choose regions, then connections
Dhaka, the northeast, the southwest and the southeastern coast are different journeys. Choose a few bases and confirm actual transport before adding distant stops. Leave margin for traffic, weather and disruptions.
Read current advice
Check official advice for your nationality, including regional restrictions, flooding and transport conditions. The Chittagong Hill Tracts are distinct from Chattogram city and are not included in this guide’s suggested outings.
Boats and protected places
Use established operators, agree the actual vessel and confirm lifejackets, permits, guides and emergency arrangements. Forest and wetland access depends on current rules and conditions; a scenic photograph does not establish an open route.
Respect hosts and working landscapes
Arrange tea-estate and community visits through appropriate hosts. Ask before photographs or recordings and respect religious practice and private spaces. Confirm fees and what is included before the visit.
Before booking
Check entry and health requirements, insurance and the latest local advice. Confirm accommodation prices, payment methods, cancellation terms and transfers directly. Public contacts do not establish ATA membership or a reservation.
