Come for the landscape

Phobjikha rewards an unhurried stay rather than a quick detour. Ask locally about permitted valley walks and leave wetland areas and working fields undisturbed.

Learn before looking for cranes

The education centre explains the valley’s black-necked cranes and conservation. The birds are seasonal visitors, and a particular sighting is never guaranteed.

Give the day room to unfold

Choose one main outing for each day and leave time for meals and the journey back. Confirm access, transport and any guided arrangements before setting out.
