Give the capital a real day

Choose a focused museum, craft or town visit with your guide rather than simply passing through. Ask which dzong areas are open to visitors around official and religious use.

A useful pause between roads

Keep the day manageable before a longer valley transfer. A market or craft visit can add contemporary context to the historic buildings.

Give the day room to unfold

Choose one main outing for each day and leave time for meals and the journey back. Confirm access, transport and any guided arrangements before setting out.
