A FIRST LOOK · CANADA

Canada on film

Destination Canada introduces the Banff and Lake Louise area in this regional film. It is one starting point for a much larger country: explore the city guides below and plan lake access through the current Parks Canada arrangements.

SEE HOW THE PLACES FIT TOGETHER

Find your way around.

Select a pin or place name to open its guide directly. Gold marks the first-time highlights, teal the places beyond the beaten path.

Orientation only: approximate positions, with leader lines separating nearby places. Boundary data: Natural Earth, public domain ↗. Canada is shown for orientation with approximate city positions; distant northern and island regions are not covered by this first selection. This is not a road or rail map.

Build your own journey

Places to combine in one trip.

An eastern city journey

Combine Toronto, Ottawa and Montréal using the actual rail or air schedule, then add Québec City if there is time for a separate stay. Each transfer day needs room.

The Pacific and the Rockies

Treat Vancouver, Victoria and Banff as substantial separate chapters. Include the complete island connection and the long journey to the mountains.

Atlantic capitals

Pair Halifax and Charlottetown with realistic road or air connections and time for each city. Coastal and wider-island outings deserve separate days.

These are route ideas, not packaged tours or confirmed transport schedules. Adjust the number of stops and nights to your pace; separate transfers need time of their own.

A FEW USEFUL ESSENTIALS

Before you travel.

Respect the scale

A cross-country line on a map can mean a long flight or several days overland. Choose regions and actual connections.

Destination Canada →

Reserve park access

Popular lakes may need a shuttle reservation as well as a park pass. Moraine Lake does not allow ordinary private-car access.

Parks Canada →

Leave room for the season

Snow, wildfire conditions, storms and marine weather can change access. Use current local and park guidance for the exact route.
