Take a closer look →03Explore a cellar labyrinth, then return to the old town and the vineyard country beyond it.
Take a closer look →Build a journey, not a checklist
Begin in Prague and choose a separate outing or overnight stay in Kutná Hora or Karlovy Vary. They lie in different directions, plan each travel leg rather than treating them as one quick circuit.
Continue from Český Krumlov towards Telč and Třebíč for contrasting historic settings. Check regional connections and give smaller towns the pleasure of an overnight stay.
Use Brno as an introduction, then choose Olomouc for grand squares or Znojmo for underground passages and wine country. Litomyšl makes another chapter on a longer journey.
Independent route ideas, not fixed tour schedules. Compare connections before booking and leave time for the journey itself.
Before you travel
The Czech Republic uses the Czech koruna, CZK. Compare rail and bus connections for smaller towns, and check seasonal opening before setting out for castles and gardens.
Spring and autumn can suit town walks, while summer brings longer days and more visitors. Plan for the weather, allow time for cobbled streets and reserve popular guided interiors ahead.
