SEE HOW THE PLACES FIT TOGETHER

Find your way around.

Select a pin or place name to open its guide directly. Gold marks the first-time highlights, teal the places beyond the beaten path.

Orientation only: approximate positions, with leader lines separating nearby places. Boundary data: Natural Earth, public domain ↗. Hungary shown for orientation. Not a road or transport map; this first selection does not cover every region.

Build your own journey

Places to combine in one trip.

The capital & an art-town pause

Give Budapest a proper stay, then slow down in Szentendre for art and river-side streets. Choose a museum programme rather than treating the smaller town only as a shopping excursion.

Southern cities, different stories

Combine Pécs’s layered archaeology and ceramics with Szeged’s architecture and river setting. These are separate regional stays with a real transfer between them.

Western squares & hill-town streets

Choose Győr and Sopron for distinct historic-town visits, then add Kőszeg if you want a smaller, quieter overnight chapter. Let the route follow your arrival and departure connections.

These are route ideas, not packaged tours or confirmed transport schedules. Adjust the number of stops and nights to your pace; separate transfers need time of their own.

A FEW USEFUL ESSENTIALS

Before you travel.

Plan the regional connection

Use the current rail and bus information, including the final local journey. A historic town centre and its station may not share the same easy luggage route.

MÁV group travel information →

Book the specific experience

Parliament tours, cave routes and small collections need their own current arrangements. Confirm the language and actual entrance.

Give Balaton its season

Lake-side services, ferries, festivals and lavender programmes vary by date. Choose the experience for your actual travel period.

Keep wine and transport together

Arrange a tasting directly and plan a driver or suitable return transport. The most rewarding cellar visit leaves time for conversation.
