SEE HOW THE PLACES FIT TOGETHER

Find your way around.

Select a pin or place name to open its guide directly. Gold marks the first-time highlights, teal the places beyond the beaten path.

Orientation only: approximate city positions, with leader lines for nearby cities. Boundary data: Natural Earth, public domain ↗. Netherlands shown for orientation. Not a road or transport map; this first selection does not cover every region.

Build your own journey

Places to combine in one trip.

Art, canals & university streets

Give Amsterdam its own stay, then choose Haarlem and Utrecht for different collections and distinctive canal walks. Each rewards more than a rushed station-to-station excursion.

The western cities, thoughtfully

Connect The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam with individual visits rather than a single-day race. Old masters, pottery and the river skyline make contrasting chapters.

A quieter town journey

Choose Leiden and Gouda for canals, local collections and food traditions. Extend to Maastricht as a separate southern stay, with its own travel day.

These are route ideas, not packaged tours or confirmed transport schedules. Adjust the number of stops and nights to your pace; separate transfers need time of their own.

A FEW USEFUL ESSENTIALS

Before you travel.

Trains & local connections

Use NS for trains and check local trams, buses and ferries separately. Giethoorn and the national park need a final regional connection.

Tap in, tap out

Check the current OVpay rules and use the same supported card or device for both ends of a journey. A physical card and its phone wallet are not automatically the same travel token.

Reserve the priority visit

Major museums and small house visits have different admission systems. Book the visit that matters, then allow travel and lunch time before the next one.

Spring is a season

Keukenhof and seasonal cheese-market programmes need date-specific checks. Neither should be promised as a daily year-round attraction.
