Arriving & getting around
Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR) serves the bay. Check the state and exact location of your hotel, especially north of the airport. Boat outings may leave from different piers or the maritime terminal.
Seasons & reservations
Summer rain affects outdoor outings, while winter brings stronger accommodation demand. Whale trips are seasonal and operator regulated. Check Jalisco and Nayarit advice for the places you intend to visit.
Families, walking & access
The Malecón offers an easier-paced outing than hillside streets. Boat landings, beaches and jungle walks vary in access. Ask about actual steps, flotation equipment and shade before booking.
