Music, palaces & the lake towns
Eisenstadt pairs palace culture with an urban base. Visit Rust on a separate day, or choose Neusiedl for more time around the lake. These towns are not one continuous waterfront walk.
Burgenland · A useful starting point
Palaces and stork towns near Lake Neusiedl, wooded castle country and quiet southern villages offer quite different visits. Choose northern or southern Burgenland as your starting point, then build the days around one area.

Different places, different kinds of day
Eisenstadt pairs palace culture with an urban base. Visit Rust on a separate day, or choose Neusiedl for more time around the lake. These towns are not one continuous waterfront walk.
Lockenhaus gives the visit a different character: a hilltop castle, bat interpretation and surrounding woodland. Plan it as a distinct excursion with its own transport.
Güssing, Jennersdorf and Oberwart suit a slower southern itinerary. Choose the town matching your main interests rather than making several distant short stops.
Parndorf can combine a village visit with shopping. Choose the station and local transport for the part of Parndorf you actually want.
An outline to adapt
Three nights in the north: arrival in Eisenstadt, a palace-and-music day, then Rust or a lake-town day. For southern Burgenland, plan another stay rather than adding Güssing and Jennersdorf to the same short northern itinerary.

Check the exact station or stop, the final walk or transfer and the last return. For evening events, arrange the journey home before booking the ticket.
Choose the named route and venue facilities that suit your party. A promenade, hilltop castle, cave and mountain trail have different demands. Ask about surfaces, steps, toilets and the full room-access route.
Lake access, nature observation, castle visits and wine-tavern service have separate calendars. Ask about the exact cycling route and return transport; never assume a complete lake circuit is a casual family ride.
Use the local guides for food planning and selected hotel contacts. Ask the hotel directly about rooms and the complete price. Contact ATA when you would like help arranging group accommodation.
For tour operators & group organisers
Tell us where and when you are travelling and how many rooms you need. Ask about coach access, guided visits, meal times and mobility requirements when arranging the itinerary.
