Read the rocks

The reserve preserves petroglyphs showing people, animals, boats and other traces of earlier lives. Use the museum and a guide to help interpret what you see.

Protect what you came to see

Stay on permitted routes and do not touch, trace or climb on the carvings. The open landscape needs sun protection, water and suitable shoes.

Give the day room to unfold

Allow a substantial part of a day from Baku, including transport. Mud volcanoes are a separate stop with separate access and vehicle arrangements.
