Tea, crafts and the time to talk

Look beyond the landmarks for the skills, food and conversations that give a journey its character.

A craft is more than a souvenir

Carpet weaving and shebeke glasswork offer a way to look closely at regional traditions. Ask a workshop whether visits or demonstrations are available and agree any fee before you begin.

Give the meeting time

Choose a hosted experience because you are interested in the people and their work. Ask permission for photographs and respect a refusal; shops, homes and places of worship have different expectations.

Keep regional differences in the picture

A single meal cannot stand for the whole country. Sheki’s sweets and Lankaran’s tea country suggest very different stops. Let the route introduce those differences rather than trying to reduce them to one checklist.

Give the day room to unfold

Ask the official tourism service or a local guide about current workshops and hosted visits. Confirm language, group size, accessibility and charges directly.
