Bahamian rhythm, food and creativity

Town streets, local kitchens and cultural traditions give the islands more than a beach identity.

The work behind Junkanoo

Costumes, music and community preparation are central to Junkanoo. Look for a museum or hosted cultural visit when a parade is not taking place, and confirm actual event dates.

Every island has its own conversations

A local meal or craft visit can offer a different perspective from a resort stay. Ask about what is made locally and pay the agreed price for a host’s time and work.

Be a considerate guest

Ask permission for portraits and recordings, and respect private homes and working waterfronts. A scheduled cultural experience should be agreed with its host rather than assumed available on arrival.

Give the day room to unfold

Use current official tourism listings for cultural venues and events, and confirm arrangements directly.
