Start with the island itself
San Pedro is the main town on Ambergris Caye. Give the waterfront and local food some time before heading offshore. Hotel locations vary, so check the actual distance and transfer from town.
The reef is a separate outing
Arrange Hol Chan with a licensed operator. Ask about group size, flotation support, the boat ride and current conditions; wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
Give the day room to unfold
Choose one main outing for each day and leave time for meals and the journey back. Confirm access, transport and any guided arrangements before setting out.
