Travel with local knowledge

A guided boat outing introduces the estuary and communities living around it. Ask what the route includes and how local conservation rules shape navigation.

Strong water deserves respect

Wear a suitable lifejacket throughout the crossing. Currents near the river mouth are strong and variable; do not treat the sandbank or ocean side as a supervised swimming beach.

Give the day room to unfold

Arrange a qualified local guide and confirm safety arrangements and current conditions. Allow a half-day or more with road and boat transfers; wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
