Day 3 Steamboat Natchez River Cruise, Hurricane Katrina Tour, Cemetery Visit.
Depart the hotel at 10:30 am am for a cruise on the Steamboat Natchez  along the Mississippi River. This two-hour cruise takes us from the heart of the French Quarter back to when cotton was king and life was slow and graceful. You will experience New Orleans, one of the world’s most active ports, as it can only be experienced from the river, serenaded by the beautiful music of the steamboats calliope (a musical instrument powered by steam that is atop the steamboat). Next we will visit one of New Orleans famous cemeteries, followed by a tour of areas damaged by Hurricane Katrina. A local guide will tell you about the history of New Orleans, the French Quarter and the impact Hurricane Katrina had on one of Americas favorite cities. You will also find out why this city was built on that particularly vulnerable location along the Mississippi River. Drive by on levees that breached and tour of still devastated neighborhoods.
Day 4 Cafe du Monde and visit to Mardis Gras World
Morning departure for coffee and beignets to the famous Cafe du Monde. Beignets were brought to Louisiana by the Acadians and soon became a staple of Louisiana cuisine. In the afternoon we'll visit Mardi Gras World: "As any local will tell you, there are certain essential things to experience in New Orleans.  One is Mardi Gras, the most unique expression of New Orleans culture and spirit. And there’s no Mardi Gras experience like Mardi Gras World. A tour of Mardi Gras World is truly magical.  Because Mardi Gras World is literally the place where Mardi Gras magic is made.  Nowhere else can you watch the artists of Blaine Kern Studios—the world-renowned masters of Carnival sculpture and floatbuilding - at work in their shops, weaving spells of wonder". Free Kings Cake sampling!
