Watch the changing terrain as the route climbs or descends. A journey is more rewarding when you know which section you are travelling through.

The Chepe railway journey
The rail journey is part of the destination, but its greatest reward comes from planning where you will stop and how you will continue.

The place and its story
Why it deserves time
The Chepe Express links Los Mochis and Creel through a dramatic sequence of landscapes, with stops including El Fuerte, Bahuichivo and Divisadero. This is not a city shuttle with departures every few minutes: direction, operating days and booked stopovers shape the whole trip. Chepe Express and Chepe Regional are different services with different booking arrangements. The right itinerary begins with the places where you want to spend time, then fits the railway around them.

Slow down and notice
Three things to look for
Choose a stopover for a specific reason—historic town, canyon access or a highland base—rather than assuming every station offers the same experience.
Check the exact service and class on your booking. Meals, seating and other inclusions differ and should be read on the current ticket terms.
Make a thoughtful visit
Plan your visit
Build the trip around the operator’s current timetable, reserving accommodation and station transfers to match. Confirm every boarding date, direction and stopover in writing. Leave room for delays and check the time difference between Sinaloa and Chihuahua. Do not combine an essential flight with an optimistic same-day rail connection. Review current travel advice for all states on your route.
Time allowances are ATA planning suggestions, not opening hours. Confirm admission, availability and access directly before travelling.
