Watch how the arch and neighbouring rock formations change as the boat moves. A wider view often explains the headland better than a close-up alone.

El Arco and Land’s End
At Land’s End, granite rock, open water and the famous arch create Cabo San Lucas’s defining coastal scene.

The place and its story
Why it deserves time
El Arco belongs to the rocky headland at the end of the Baja peninsula. Seeing it properly usually means taking to the water from the marina or Médano area. Different outings emphasize different things: a short water-taxi circuit, a glass-bottom boat, a guided paddle or a longer cruise are not the same product. The exposed Pacific side and the more sheltered-looking bay must not be treated as interchangeable swimming areas.

Slow down and notice
Three things to look for
If wildlife is present, keep a respectful distance and follow the operator’s instructions. Sightings are never guaranteed.
If a beach landing is offered, establish the exact beach, the conditions and the collection arrangements before stepping off.
Make a thoughtful visit
Plan your visit
Allow a few hours including boarding and possible waiting, even for a relatively short trip. Book an operator who explains life jackets, weather limits and the route. Ask whether a beach landing is included and how it is made; conditions can prevent it. Do not swim at Divorce Beach on the Pacific side. At any other beach, follow current flags and local guidance rather than relying on calm-looking water.
Time allowances are ATA planning suggestions, not opening hours. Confirm admission, availability and access directly before travelling.
