Chihuahua travel guide
Chihuahua’s canyon country calls for a route built around specific stops. Creel, Divisadero and the Chepe railway are connected experiences, but they are not interchangeable places to stay. Our detailed guides help you separate a town base, a canyon viewpoint and the train journey itself.

Choose your overnight stops before booking accommodation. A hotel marketed under Copper Canyon may be far from the station or viewpoint you have in mind. Confirm the station name, luggage arrangements and the transfer from the platform to your lodging. Leave time on the ground instead of seeing the landscape only through a train window.
Plan the visit around your route
Railway schedules, available services and operating days must be checked with the railway for your travel dates. Routes that continue into Sinaloa cross a state boundary, so read advice for the whole journey. At community visits, ask before photographing people and use locally agreed guides and access arrangements.
