Jalisco travel guide
Jalisco offers two very different bases in our collection: Guadalajara inland and Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific. Guadalajara’s plazas, Hospicio Cabañas and nearby Tlaquepaque focus on architecture, art and craftsmanship. Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón, old town and southern bay introduce a coastal way of exploring.

Choose one base for a short visit. Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta should not be treated as neighbouring stops on a walking or casual day-trip itinerary. Within Guadalajara’s area, leave time for a museum visit and a craft district rather than compressing both into a brief checklist.
Plan the visit around your route
Guachimontones offers another archaeological perspective, with circular structures near Teuchitlán. Check access and transport separately from city sightseeing. Around Puerto Vallarta, confirm boat departures and weather for any southern-bay excursion, and establish the return journey before leaving the waterfront. Our city pages lead to geographically relevant accommodation contacts.
