Puebla travel guide

Puebla state offers a range of journeys beyond a single city stay. Tetela de Ocampo is one of the places to investigate in the highlands, while Chautla combines a historic estate, gardens and a castle-like building beside an artificial lake. Choose an area before assembling a day’s route.

Choose your starting point

At Chautla, decide whether you want a short landscape-and-architecture visit or a longer outing involving activities on the grounds. Confirm which spaces are open, what requires a separate ticket and whether any activities need advance arrangements. A general admission description may not cover every experience.

Plan the visit around your route

For highland towns, allow realistic road time and ask about local conditions. The official state directory also introduces Tlatlauquitepec, Xicotepec and Zacatlán. These names are starting points for choosing a base, not a suggested one-day circuit. Verify accommodation location and return transport before making several reservations.
